Review
The Bridgerton series always serves a dashing man with a wobbly heart. Colin is different from his predecessor as he does not shy away. Even if he is wrong he faces it upfront and takes the charge. He wears his feelings and also loves openly. Penelope is the first girl in Bridgeton's diary who is not blessed. She is the Cinderella whose wish for Prince Charming gets fulfilled through lots of ups and downs. During the journey, Cressida takes a bad breath as the spinster loses all hope in life. The writer could have been merciful to her. Eliose, Francheska, Benedict- the beautiful gangs of the series whose stories got a new angle in this installment. The journey of Anthony and Kate got a pleasurable ending as the new viscountess announced the arrival of the heir. Keeping love notes while journeying through the revelation of the face of Ms. Wallflower before the story reveals nooks and corners of emotions that people hide cautiously or promptly. It is a love story and the director pays extra care as the evolution of Pen and her Mr. Bridgerton is the sweetest of the kind. We all crave to have one such love story where we witness each other grow bigger and better. The layering of Penelope adds brisque to the tale. Her opening which presented her as the poor personality girl hiding behind a yellow curtain to the one boldly stepping out of her shadow - marks liberation on its own. She is powerful in her own way.
Luke and Nicola stepped in their shoes as lovers for the first time. Their chemistry sparked the friendship which is the base of this new love tale. Ruth as the mother got to imbue a new layer in her character this season. Her portrayal of a mother and woman added to the extravagant every mother felt once in her lifetime. Claudia Jessie again has been underused. The moon-faced actress has been getting little to do ever since her fall-out with Penelope. Her own love story can give her justice.
Conclusion
Bridgeton's stories tell us there are different forms of love. It depends on your circumstances, your heart, and even your fate. Those who are destined for you may eventually find their way to you but how you treat them is completely up to you. Colin picked his destiny and followed his heart. It is a love that gives thrills, ends questions and the taste stays for a long time.
